Prebuilt PC price differences aus vs NZ

Looking for a prebuilt gaming PC

Noted aus was a lot cheaper even though individual components are not a lot different in price

e.g.

vs

(same GPU)

Just wondering if any one knew why or if we are just getting ripped off in NZ.

  • prices of gpu's are falling fast, the more recently the price has changed, the lower the cost is. PB tend to not change prices often to reflect the cost but they just do a big sale instead. Also the gpu market is still in shambles and some retailers don't want to believe the reality of plummeting gpu prices so aren't lowering them yet

  • When is a good time to buy a gpu I am in the market for one but unsure if you wait for the new series to come out or buy now?

    • 40 series coming soon but i can imagine short stock will be the norm again so the 30 series will still be primary for many people.

    • This topic is so complicated it's got too many factors. If you're really interested there is alot of information on youtube on this. If you don't want to spend your time on that and just was a quick answer, just know these bullet points.

Low end 40 series is still a long way away. Nvidia releases from top to bottom.

prices have been plummmentting but eth is still not at pos so it is likely to go down further

pos is happening imminently this month

Unless you are buying extreme top end, 40 series should not be a concern for you unless you want to wait another year.

Most gpus after pos will be used mining but since there are virtually none in NZ, trickle down effects will be slow

There is about to be a massive overstock of gpus sending prices underground. Millions of gpus are about to be freed up. Hundreds of terahashs/s will lose 98% of current mineability.
