ChoiceCheapies First Birthday Competition Referendum - Vote for Your Favorite Design - Win a Shirt!

So, our First Birthday Competition has come to an end, with quite a large number of entries. Thank you to everyone who entered, and good
luck with the second stage of the competition.

The referendum will run for 10 days, starting today, until midnight on the 11th of October, with each user allowed a single vote.

Voting is open only to registered users. Note you cannot vote for your own design and doing so will result in removal of such votes or disqualification. You may however request your friends to visit and vote on your design, or share it on social media.

The winner and runner up positions will be decided by a 50:50 vote consisting of the below poll, and a private moderator/power user vote, with the final result being released in a forum post/newsletter announcement on October 13th.

To recap, the prizes consist of:

1 x $300 cash
2 x $100 cash
1 x T-shirt printed with the winning design for every entrant.
1 x T-shirt prize to 10 random voters.

  • I just clicked the wrong vote how do I undo? edit: just found revoke button

    • Under 35 you will see "Revoke", click on that.

  • Entry #31 has been removed due to being ineligible.

Too many options, will wait until government narrows down to 4 or so then complain the one I like is not on the refined list.

    Shaw, images 29 & 33 can't be opened as they contain errors…

    • +1

Cheers mate, will look into it.

  • Just to clarify the rules, I could send the link to this page to everyone in my email list including family etc and tell them to sign up and vote for me and it would be ok?

    • Yea, you can, its not against the rules to do so, and even if we wanted to make such a rule, it would be virtually impossible to enforce. Voting for yourself, however, will result in harsher consequences, such as removal of votes or disqualification.

      • Great Cheers. :) I might ask a few family to vote and add a link to my email footer.

          Sweet, good luck!

  • Entries 29 and 33 have been removed due to disqualification from the competition. As per initial competition rules:

Entry into the competition is restricted to NZ based users only

    Furthermore a reminder that:

You cannot vote for your own design and doing so will result in removal of such votes or disqualification.

Users who have voted on entries 29 and 33 have had their votes revoked and can now vote on another entry.

    Thanks

  • That's not fair… I am from NZ :(

    • If you wish to discuss further, feel free to contact us via TWAM.

  • Ok, first off, thank you to everyone for entering the competition and voting, the amount of votes received far outweighed any expectation we had, which was good to see.

After the voting finished, the votes were split into two groups, user votes, and moderator/power user votes. The following are the top 3 entries:

3rd place: danto - With entry number 3 wins a runner up prize of $100 with 13.79% of the total vote.

2nd place: risingstar - With entry number 30 wins a runner up prize of $100 with 21.97% of the total vote.

1st place: MrChiwi - With entry number 2 wins the grand prize of $300 with 27.58% of the total vote.

Congratulations to all the winners, please also note each entrant will receive a t-shirt with the winning print, as well as 10 random voters to be selected once the final printed t-shirts are received.

We expect this process to take at least one month, with the view of getting the shirts to your door early December.

Don't forget to checkout all the other competitions that are shared by community members, and if you are new, why not stop by the Introduce Yourself forum and say hi?

Congratulations to all! ChoiceCheapies sure has a talented bunch of users! Looking forward to receiving my new t-shirt. :)

Congrats all. I was hoping no. 12 would win (other than my own) it was a great tshirt design.

Congrats guys ! Thank you for voting and really appreciate the way everything was organised. A well deserved Birth Day Event !
Keep up the good work and wish many more to come :)

  • Is there a photo of the final version of the shirt available?

    • We are still in the process of arranging to have them printed (Expected when dealing with Aliexpress companies) but are looking into alternative/local options to get enough to fulfill the supply for this comp in the interim.

MrChiwi actually had his winning design printed onto a shirt himself:

Nice, would look great standing outside Dick Smith wearing one.

        • But don't wear one outside one of Gerrys stores' after there has been a "professional act", security wouldn't be too pleased with that.

  • I have sent a PM to everyone who is receiving a shirt. Please reply with the details requested and these will be sent out asap.

    Cheers.

Mine arrived today … many thanks !

  • got mine this morning too. Can't wait to wear it :)

  • After over 2 years, I've had to retire my cheapies t-shirt. It saw many bargains, but unfortunately after an incident it is left in more than one piece. Was actually quite a good shirt to be honest, probably wore it a few hundred times.

Anyone able to share where the ones for this competition were printed? Quite interested in doing a few designs myself and was quite impressed with the quality and comfort of the shirts.

    • +1

Hmmm, I think that was a Shaw project, who’s no longer with Cheapies. Paging @scotty or @neil who might know some more.

    • +1

Ha, did you go angry Hulk on your shirt?

I was wearing my Cheapies shirt today. The black shirts blend in with the public whereas the bright orange OzBargain shirts make you stand out which is especially awkward when shopping. We need to order a new batch of OzBargain t-shirts so maybe we'll put in some orders for both sites. Let me investigate.

      • Over the past few months it developed a small rip which eventually got caught on something and developed into a very large rip, lol.
My T-shirt was the OG white one which I personally prefer over the black one?

    • +1
      • Cheers - Looks like this crowd only supply the shirts though and you need to get them printed elsewhere?

        • I got mine from a competition. I don't think you're meant to get them elsewhere.

        • @ClipIt:
I'm not referring to printing cheapies ones, just to print a custom design in general. I'll probably just with aliexpress or a cheap international printing company.
