Nutribullet worth the hype?

Are nutribullet's any good.
Or do I buy something else?

What are you wanting to do with it

  • Sorry I should have added that. Smoothies, ice slushies, protein drinks thanks

Its definitely one of those over-hyped products, with there being similar performing products out there.

But with that being said, if you find yourself a good deal on them you will not be disappointed by them. The higher power models perform well, they do a good job of everything they claim and what you have said.

And replacement parts are easy to find (and yes, you will need to replace the blade-assemply piece every year or so depending on your usage (otherwise they get ungodly loud))

      • Cheers thank you. Will wait and watch for a deal to pop up.

  • Best blender we ever got was from KMart: it was about $15 iirc, fit regular sized mason jars (of which we had about a dozen) and lasted a couple of years of daily use. Then they stopped selling them ☹️

The cheaper ones are a little flimsy and under powered for things like ice slushies and the blades are not usually sharp enough to adequately chop fibrous fruit and vegetables, but most fruit smoothies and shakes are fine.

    • Thanks. Do get some good scores from Kmart. Bugger they stopped making it.

We still have an old 900w, we replace the blade and cups every year and it’s going strong, it’s used about 3 times a day in our house.

    • Does it do ok with frozen berries?

      • Yeah my other half does awful smoothies with frozen berries, broccoli, spinach, beetroot, carrots etc and it handles everything (including ice)

        • Hahaha awful smoothies 🤣. That's fantastic thank you

  • Ours (900W) has been good.

Replaced a nice traditional blender. Did a similar job, but much easier to clean.

    • I'm definitely all about the easier to clean.

      • Old blender was too big to fit in dishwasher, and we found out after a while that it was important to unscrew the base and clean the seal every time (as it was growing mold).

With the nutra blender, the cup bit goes in the dishwasher, and the blade unit gets rince / brush under the tap. Much easier.

Main issue that we have had is that it is important to screw the base and cup together well. about three times we have failed to do this, and the smoothly leaks into the machine (it has a leak path hose, so nothing gets damaged, but it is a bit of a chore to clean up the resulting mess).

        • Thank you, will remind myself. Very helpful

Obviously it is much smaller. if you regularly blend say 1.2L, you would need to start batching.

  • Nutribullet are distributed by https://www.cdbgroup.com/pages/our-retail-partners. They proved to be really bad with their warranty. They claimed that my nutribullet was damaged by a leak, but a leak never happened. They said, they opened it to find food inside it. I opened it after they returned it to me to find it factory-new clean.
