Air New Zealand launched a new route today - direct to Hobart (well they've done it in the past but it's "new" again this year).
Flights are on Thursday and Sunday each week.
I've done a sampling of dates between next week and the end of April, but they do continue on beyond that.
Don't forget to look for a cheap hotel!

I've only been to the airport for work in the past, but even just flying in was spectacular.
45% of Tasmania is protected national parks. So lots of wildlife, hiking, nature site seeing, off roading etc.
hobart is like the wellington of aus. strangely similar looking waterfronts. ive always wanted to visit. always found tasmania a bit strange in size compared to aus itself
This is where I’ll probably hide and fadeaway if ever I win lotto.
I did a 7 day stint there, drove from Hobart up to Launceston (James Boags brewery / Cataract gorge), and back down the coast via Bicheno and all the random little towns, before ending up at Port Arthur for a few days. 100% would recommend and will definitely go back. Its feels oddly NZ-ish in parts. As Sigma pointed out, Hobart is very much like Wellington.
