Best Wireless Earbuds under $50

Hi All,

I am looking for a backup cheap wireless earbuds to watch movies/videos on ipad once in awhile. I don't use ipad that often to watch so I need a cheap buds when I do watch it. Currently using iphone earbuds with it.

Currently, eyeing SOUNDPEATS TrueAir2 based on recommedations from ozbargain when it goes on sale again. Can be had around $35 AU.

Any other alternatives out there. Not in a hurry and can wait for a deal or long shipping if they are good.

Need to be comfortable to wear, decent audio quality and battery life. Should not have connection issues or pairing issues.

Thanks.

Edit : couple of other on the short list.

  • I've been using Soundpeats TrueAir2 for almost 2 years now and it's definitely worth $50.

The only downsides are the build quality and the battery life. It's made from plastic so it doesn't have a the high quality touch, however, it is very light, so the weight of it is perfect during workout. The battery life is definitely poor compared to a more expensive one. I have a pair of Galaxy Buds 2, so I can say that the battery lasts way longer on those.

Soundcore Earbuds are also quite popular as well if you haven't checked them out yet.

    • Plastic won't be a problem unless it's not rough.

By decent battery, do you get atleast 3-4hrs out of it on a single charge?

I did look at soundcore, but they feel expensive. Not really keen on spending above $50 as this are spare buds.

      • I can say that it will definitely for at least 3-4 hours.

        • Thanks.

I bought Soundpeats Free 2 Classic from Amazon AU a few weeks ago and it's definitely bang for buck. I havent been closely monitoring my usage but the battery stays on for quite a bit.

They've been my very first true wireless earbuds so I can't really give any examples to other wireless buds but i rate it if you just need a spare one that doesnt cost an arm and a leg.

And it's comfy too. I've been able to sleep with them on while listening to podcasts and audiobooks

Got it for around $30NZD shipped.

I am finding these very good and long battery life. Also comfortable to wear and they do not fall out. The best of the 3 cordless earphones that I have. Also you can touch to change volume which I find great.

  • In my limited experience, cheap Bluetooth earbuds are fine for audio only but not video. It might just be a problem with my MPOW X3's but I find the latency with Bluetooth means the audio delay is too irritating for a lot of videos and I usually just go back to wired headphones.
Depending on what kind of content you're watching you might be best to try some Bluetooth earbuds before you buy them, or aim for the lowest latency you can with your $50.

    • I own Jabra Active 75t as my main buds and am happy with it. I agree on latency.

I have used qcy and awei in the past which were good for the price. Hard to try all this unless you know someone who owns them.

  • I'm a big fan of Baseus products, but while I haven't personally experienced their headphones, they look good for the value

    • Agree got lots of Baseus stuff myself, but not sure on the headphones. Also, haven't come across on any review sites so bit skeptical on them. And, they seems bit expensive.
