I would sign up but they will keep harassing me to sign up again lol Dom post wouldn't let up easily

  • Can you get the digital for free without the physical paper? I know it might be different content but I get enough content anyway so just seems like a waste of paper - no use except for wiping condensation off the windows..

You can also access the NZ Herald for free using the Pressreader app at Auckland Libraries (and possibly other countries around the country, not sure thought)

  • Does anyone have a AA Membership number that they are willing to give?

The catch is that they’ll keep your details on file… forever, lol. First it’s the constant calls then after that it’s the offers addressed to you through the mail, pretty persistent. Kinda like HelloFresh. Used them about two years ago for a couple of months, but still get offers mailed to me.

    • I signed up for something similar in the past and never got any calls or mail. Only got subscribed to a mailing list for the email used but that can be unsubscribed. Also never got mail from hellofresh either.

    • Claim you moved to the EU and want to exercise your right to be forgotten under GDPR.

Just don't provide a real email address. Use a temporary disposable one, or just start using services like Bulc.Club. Make up any email on the spot and they'll just be forwarders that go to your actual email address.

As for calls, same idea. Use a call forwarding or redirection service. You can use something like e.g. Hushed. I have a lifetime plan and have a free USA number for calling and texting and I use it as my burner number. Of course, you'd need a NZ burner number, but same principle.

I mean, even if you provide a legit phone number, you can always use a throw-away SIM for that. And there's always call screener apps like ShowCaller, WhosCalled, etc. I can easily tell about 80~90% of the time whether the call is spam, telemarketing, scam, etc.

  • I got this message.

"The Herald home delivery network extends northwards from Taupo to include the Bay of Plenty, Waikato, King Country, Auckland and Northland.

It also includes Hawke's Bay, Gisborne and New Plymouth townships. Beyond the city and town boundaries, New Zealand Post's Rural Delivery service takes over to provide coverage to all but the most remote addresses. "

Just FYI if you're interested in getting the actual paper for composting or some other use.

  • At the end of the free "Complimentary Subscription" you have to ring and get it cancelled or they'll start charging you. I hate having to ring and undoubtedly sit in a queue waiting to talk to someone. This should be able to be done from a website but that probably means they can't give you the sales talk.

I hate being trapped into something I can't easily unsubscribe from.

    • how would they charge u tho?

  • I've done this once a year to stock up for lighting my fire (just in time as I'm running low and it's getting cold).
I've always had a phonecall after expiry, but only ever one as I tell them I didn't really read it.

  • couldn't pay me to sign up for that garbage
