Warehouse Price Promise for Games - Match Only and No 10%off?

Hi, we recently bought a nintendo switch game with price match. The agent, Mailey, informed me that they only do match with no 10% discount.

The price promise article only mentions gaming machines and not games and accessories.

But mailey insisted that since this is an "electronic and gaming item" it only counts for price match with no 10% discount.

Is this consistent with your experiences? I'm suspecting I just got a strict agent.

  • Might be best to try a different agent to see if this is a consistent message.

  • Just fisnished a chat with Ben

"I apologise but the item can only be price matched since it is considered as an electronic and technology item. Since there is a large scope of technology items, they are not all specifically on our price promise terms and conditions but all technology items and this item can only be price matched."

    tsk oh well

    • I've had the 10% discount rejected for a Xbox Controller (for my pc) where they wouldn't price match it due to it falling into electronics too, went to another branch and it was fine. Gaming wise I've just brought directly via Steam for PC when its on sale so haven't encountered this issue as I'm not on console. I think someone pointed out that you can still get price match and points using Noel Leeming, which might be a good alternative as the agents become more strict on matching.

  • 50/50. The newbie will beat 10% I believe. Just ambush the young fella instore.

  • I've had it in store.

Counter staff were going to argue about even price matching. Manager put it straight through.

    T&Cs don't exclude them.

    • I've had an issue with counter staff showing me a list of accepted competitors on their computers, and "Pak & Save" wasn't one of them during the Oral B promo, luckily I stood my ground and it got escalated to a manager who finally accepted it.

      • +1

I'm pretty sure it's a case of staff having zero clue and giving zero. Often including the managers.

Pity, when I did retail I didn't just show up and do what I was told. I knew my shit, even for minimum wage.
