Mitre10 Trade Account

Kia Ora,

Looking to start a DIY painting project for my home.
Anyone with trade account ?
Will help me to reduce the buying price.
Or if there’s any other way around?

Cheers

Sorry, we're all busy with click frenzy right now

  • One option is to go with Farmlands or Farmsource to get one of their cards which also gives you discounts at other stores. Mitre10 trade discounts with Mitre10 themselves isn't as great as the discounts through the likes of Farmlands. Otherwise find someone you know who already has a trade account or account with Farmlands/Farmsource and go from there. Discounts aren't massive, but if spending 10k+ on materials you'll probably end up saving 1-2K.

    • Sweet, thanks for the info 🙏

There is also asset lab powerpass for bunnings if you're not strictly limited to mitre10

Or just shop at Bunnings and get instant savings as they are generally cheaper than Mitre10. Like shopping at PaknSave rather than Countdown.

I second this. I got a Powerpass account for when we did a bunch of renovation on our house. Probably spent $20k with Bunnings and probably saved $300-500 with Powerpass (really discounts are mostly pretty abysmal, but hey, a discount is a discount), but just shopping with Bunnings probably saved me $3-5k over Mitre10.

Another benefit of Powerpass is the app shows a lot of items that the website doesn't, gives you in stock quantities same tells you where in the store to find stuff.

    • The discount for Assetlab was nerfed last year. It's almost pointless now.

  • Also get price matches. Bunnings is often cheaper than mitre 10, so often you can get mitre 10 to price match. But some of the models are exclusive to either store, so it is impossible to price match. Likewise sometimes things are the identical price .

I have a trade cash account if you want.
PM me some numbers and I can give you an idea of price / discount.

  • I have Mitre10 trade, and the asset lab powerpass.
    Powerpass can be much better.
But I would say use the dulux trade account from the Property Investors Facebook group. Really good discount for paint which I found was cheaper than Bunnings even with Powerpass.

I have a trade account through a friends buying group that was as flipping and renovating houses at the top tier.

The trade discount is a tier system so at the top level it's a very very good discount, but most people won't get this huge discount as you need to spend a lot. Also it's only valid for a particular store.

You're better trying with Bunnings as usually cheaper.

    • Wish I’d such friends 🙃
