Laundry pegs recommendations

Hi, could you please reccommend some laundry pegs that last? We're using Sunshine pegs. Any cheaper but still good quality alternatives? Thanks.

Stainless steel pegs. I have seen them at the warehouse and Bunnings.

    • 1000x thank you!! You solved a massive annoyance with a solution I didn't know existed. My wife buys the dirt cheapest pegs money can buy and they are SO bad, we're constantly replacing them, and I'm picking up broken peg bits every other day it seems.

      • I got those big plastic ones which seems to last alot longer than the standard size ones.

    • Thanks. The Sunshine plastic pegs lasted me 3-5 years. I hope stainless steel will beat that!

    • Wouldn't they leave an indent in your clothes? Have scrolled thru reviews and no-one mentioned this. Thanks!

I got these recommended by the Warehouse Kmart Hacks group https://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/p/living-co-stainless-steel-p…

    • Thanks. I might try the stainless steel from Mitre10 first as they are cheaper :)

    • Have a look on aliexpress for similar, just double check the product size in description

Search for steel pegs. ~$20 for 100 iirc

  • Is that the how you got your username? haha

Ah, that's quite funny ;), but it's just a coincidence.

  • Could consider these.. Quite good reviews and may be good value for money

    • Amazing reviews for such a low price. Wish that Kmart was in my area!

      • You can order online. free delivery from $50 spent if you have a few other items you like from kmart. It has a number good value items across a number of areas..

  • I've found that the plastic pegs last a lot longer if not left on the line 24/7, so would throw them in the washing basket when bringing in the washing.

  • I have both the Warehouse stainless ones in the 20 pack which are slightly larger the the 50 pack ones, and some AliExpress ones which are like the 50 pack size(and possibly the same ones) I prefer the larger ones for ease of use and extra leverage. I personally hate the Kmart ones as I am losing them to attrition as they shatter into 1000 pieces of plastic. 1 note is that it is trickier to get any SS ones to hold sheets onto steel clothes lines as they tend to slide around and bunch fitted sheets together etc, which was never an issue with plastic pegs, so you need to angle the pegs to clamp them to the line(or keep some sunshine pegs) as plastic pegs never had this issue for me.

  • I have these stainless pegs from Innovations. They're a bit more expensive, but the ceramic grip pads are excellent. They've been outside 24/7 for the last 6-7 years, no problems

  • These are the kind that I've found the best

  • After a lot of trouble with dumb pegs, I found these utterly cheap pegs at Pak n Save and never looked back. They last a very long time and they stay in line. Was getting tired of them falling off the clothes.

    Plus they're dirt cheap.

  • I 2nd the stainless steel pegs Warehouse pegs, I really like the idea of only needing to buy something once instead of the disposable plastic ones that end up in the landfill and through the lawn. They've been great so far, as the old plastic ones explode I've been slowing replacing the lot. As CBM78 mentioned, the only real downside is they don't grip the line quite as tight but its not the end of the world, that and the lawn mower really doesn't like them.
