Find me a bargain? - VDSL Broadband + Home phone

I've been with Vodafone since 2011 and would like to change to a good home phone and internet provider other than Vodafone. Can some one recommend me a ISP that offers unlimited data VDSL broadband + home phone with cheap call rates with no connection fees? Some extra upgrades and free stuff like free modem router, free cable TV would be nice too. Thanks!

  • Any price range?
    Call rates?
    Where do you call most?

Also, is the home phone essential? Might give a bit more room to move if it isn't.

    • Price range would around max $110? National call and Australia call would be great. Home phone is optional I guess, but would be good if there is home phone.

      • Who is your current mobile provider?

        • Vodafone. All our mobiles, broadband and home phones are with Vodafone

          @coolstorybro:

Ok. I'm just looking at Spark and 2D.

I see with 2D you get Aussie/NZ calls for $49 a month, and VDSL for $79 with a mobile plan. Which is $30 for internet/Mobile, and you could add another user on for $25 a month ($155) if you had another one. I also read on GZ that the free modem (12 month term) they are offering is pretty high end as well, can't recall the model, but it's a Fritz!Box, and 6 months Neon sub (Or upgrade to the $69/m mobile plan and get a Neon sub for the life of the plan).

Spark offer the same (VDSL + Mobile) for $79.99 + $59.99, so $140 without adding an extra user on, but you get 6 months Lightbox and a Spotify sub.

It all depends on whether you want to ditch the home phone or not, add ~$50/m for that with Aussie calls, works out cheaper to get a separate cellphone just for the home, have it on $25/m share, with the calls included.

I am in the same situation as above. Thinking of Spark - what is the best deal we can expect from Spark. What is the cost of landline with 2nd handset, broadband and cellphone. (Currently Vodafone for cell). I would be very interested in others experiences and what works best. Thanks

    • Best Spark deals will be what they currently have on the website, typically first month free etc and free modem on a 12 month term.

  • Consider bigpipe with voip. However personally I'd just spend a bit more on my cellphone, unlimited calling pans are cheap now.

  • 2Degrees by far.

We currently pay $69 p/month (unlimited calls/txt to nz/aus with 5gb data) for 2 mobile phones, $89p/month for unlimited internet. Get $10 bundle discount means we pay $148 monthly. Fibre boost can cost $10 - $50 extra p/month.

Have not used a home phone for years.

    • $69 per month for 2x phones with unlimited calling ang 5gb shared data. Ie $35ea is that correct?

      • Correct, but after looking at their website it appears they no longer offer this deal. Might have to sweet talk somebody instore as I signed up about 12 months ago

        • The best bet right now would be the $49 + $25 = $74, but it only includes 2.5GB data, but the calls and texts are unlimited.
