JVC TV & Audio products at Warehouse

Recently I bought a JVC soundbar from my local warehouse, surprisingly learnt that the JVC product I bought was manufactured, distributed, warrantyed, and services by the TWG aka the warehouse group under license. Really?? I bought a JVC, but it was not really a JVC, but it really was a JVC. I was under the impression JVC was a Japan or US brand. What’s your thoughts?

  • Does seem to happen a bit. Basically a company (usually a sign they are in a bit of trouble) sells the right to use their name. It's quite a valuable thing. I mean our hearts tell us to buy a TV branded "JVC" rather than one branded "chinsungchon"

  • +1

Totally normal. JVC (and a lot of other companies) hasn't actually made products in years. It's just a name that is licenced to give a air of recognition to uninformed consumers.

I have one BTW. Its fine.

  • Just my 2 cents on those TVs.

They seem to be very hit and miss on the quality, HOWEVER. (From my experience)

    A) They are MUCH cheaper than others close to them.
    B) The Warehouse are really bloody good when it comes to returns/issues etc. MUCH better than most places you would generally purchase a TV from.
