Enter the competition

To enter the competition, simply answer the following question:

What would your neighbourhood look like if everyone could travel safely on our roads and footpaths?

To help you get started, imagine roads are safe and you are free to go places safely. Where would you go? How would you get there? How would you play on your street? You can express your ideas in lots of ways! You can draw a picture, write a story or poem, use a camera, or get creative with other digital devices and programmes.

Entry requirements

• If you are between 5 – 13 years old and live in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland, we want to hear from you!
• Submit your entry by 5pm on Sunday 1 May online at ABC or at any Auckland Council Public Library.

Our judging panel includes

• ex-All Black Keven Mealamu, a member of the New Zealand Police
• Auckland Transport’s Community Transport team
• Judging will be based on creativity and clear vision.

Prize

Our top two entries will receive a new bike and helmet, and the top 15 entries will feature in our plan for safe speeds, our safe speeds communications and on an online gallery to share with friends, whānau, and the rest of our region.
