Where to Buy a New PC?

Hello everyone!

After around 7-8 years, my gaming pc is finally reaching the end of its days.

I was wondering if anyone has any website suggestions on where to buy a pc. Unfortunately I don't have the money currently and so it would need to be a website that supports finance now or something similar. For this same reason, I most likely cant build it myself sadly. I was looking at PB tech but unsure if there's any other websites I should be looking at.

Cheers Lads :^)

Since you mentioned you are not able to build it yourself. I would highly recommend CompulsionTech / Trademe link - they build it to your specification.

Not not affiliated with them or anything, but I was happy with their service they provided and the price of a desktop PC they built for me a few years ago.

Edit: on Trademe they mention they have "AfterPay & Humm Finance Available"

Edit2: they may offer an option to use a 2nd hand / lower spec GPU to help keep the cost of the build down. You could then upgrade it yourself in the future when (hopefully) GPUs come down in price.

If you do decide to go with PB tech, part 5 of their sale which includes computers should be going live sometime within these next few days. I'd wait and see the deals on those before making a purchase

    • might be a good idea, since they have finance now. thanks for that!

  • I'd highly recommend Godmode (https://www.godmode.co.nz/) which specialise in custom-built gaming PCs. Their service is fantastic and very fast turnaround times with great warranty, plus it's good to support smaller local NZ companies!

  • Build your own. I just bought all the parts from PB Tech over the weekend to build my own PC for $2422, plus another $80 for an AIO cpu water cooler from Amazon, so $2500 all up, and PB Tech have a prebuilt with nearly identical specs, the only standout differences are their ssd is 1tb while mine is 500gb and theirs has 16gb of ram while I went for 32gb, and they've got it on special for $3699 down from $4000. They have a range of finance options, build your own and save money.

  • I was able to get a refurbished laptop for my school age son at https://hungrypc.co.nz seems to be running well and keeping him happy, it was pretty cheap but still does all his school work and can play the odd basic game
