Maybe post a couple deals yourself to show us what a good deal is like in your eyes :).
FYI: If you don't want to see anymore more deals from Countdown supermarket, you can click the "Hide" link underneath the deal and add Countdown to your block list. Up to 50 domains can be added.
There's also a plethora of other options (found in your Account settings -> Edit -> Deal) that you can use to customise your ChoiceCheapies front page, such as the ability to see less of certain categories or even outright hide these categories on the front page.
They are not in the mailer nor the 10% discount. It sounds like a good deal even though it might be too late to grab them now.
These deals are sometimes store specific and very hard to find.
BB dates at Countdown Dunedin Central were beginning of April for all flavors of the corn chips.
Hit the deli section where they put the chilled stuff that's nearing its expiry and it was stacked! Ended up buying some fresh gourmet meat pizzas and family quiches for $4 each to chuck in the freezer along with a few rolls of camembert and brie for $1.50 and wedges of blue vein for $3. Right now I'm eating a gourmet pizza with an entire roll of camembert sliced over it and I feel absolutely filthy, but in a good way lol
Unfortunately it is the sign of times where some families have to sacrifice buying some items due to higher costs of fuel, which explains a surplus in food expiring soon.
wut? Ok, you added the surplus in food expiring bit, I was a bit confused before you added that bit. No, it's always been like that, you just have to be lucky and hit the supermarket at the right time. When we were first married over 30 years ago we were poor and a bulk of our meals were made with things we found in the reduced section of the supermarket.
