Air Tent Reviews and Advice

Just wanting to see if any one has any good reviews on air tents, so hard to know which one to choose as there is so many now. Torpedo 7 seem more in the affordable range but just saw that the warehouse air tent has the same dimensions etc as the torpedo air 500 but way cheaper. Looks like the exact same tent but different color and one has plastic windows. Would love to here others experiences with air tents, and if anyone has the warehouse raglan airtent what they think of it… Thanks

I have the Dwights Enterprise 2. Bought it after a lot of research. Fantastic tent. Like usual though, you pay for quality. It cost me $999 at Christmas 2020. Now I see it's $1500. They don't often (if ever) have discounts on it.

  • We currently have the dwights escape trio which has been awesome but the fly ripped (its an old tent so no suprises) We looked at getting the replacement fly which is $299 but then saw the airtent from the warehouse on sale with the market 10% added brings,it down to about $390. On comparison with the torpedo 7 air500 it seems to be almost identical. Was wondering if it's the same tent just different label as I thought torpedo 7 and the warehouse are same owners I think,so seeing what others experiences are.I had my eye on those dwights ones too but prices have gone back up again. I know what you mean about dwights not often on sale, I am hoping to eventually get a replacement fly if they go on sale because that tent has been awesome, but thought maybe try an airtent for quick camping setup.

There is a nz brand called Zempire that make really good air tents. I would recommend this one https://zempire.co.nz/evo-tl-v2-002

    • This tent looks awesome, we ended up buying the air tent from the warehouse but if that's a failure we will be looking again. Good to here others experiences on what they have and like. Thanks

  • Use the HNZ code for the airtent on Torpedo7 - you get a chunky discount which can change the calcuation - free shipping as a T7 member - which is weird as its a very large item. - this is what we got a while back - but Covid killed our camping so havent used it as yet - but it looked good in the store.

    Torpedo7 Air Series 600 Blackout Tent 6 Person - Alloy - $1,359.99 NZD
    Shipping Cost - $0
    COUPON -$588.84 NZD

    Total:
    $771.15 NZD

    • That's a great saving! I was looking at the torpedo 7 ones. I ended up buying the warehouse one as it looks identical to the airseries 500, same measurements , same weather rating, one difference is the polyester outer on the warehouse one is 190D oxford polyester and the torpedo 7 one is 150D oxford polyester (not sure which one is better).Torpedo 7 one also has some pvc windows on. I'm wondering if they are the same suppliers just different label, as even the little accessories that came with it are identical to the one on torpedo 7 page. I got it on clearance for $390 including postage, and thought I'd give it a go, the lady at the warehouse said they are 1 year warranty but even if it fails after one year they have up to 2 years where you can try to return if it breaks as it is something that should be fit for purpose for at least 2 years. Thanks for the info regards torpedo 7 tho, if this one turns out to be a complete failure I might look into getting a torpedo 7 one as that is what our friends have and looks good.

  • Two times my order went through and cancelled at later stage with Torpedo 7 for 500 series (seconds) $295. Will be looking at the warehouse ones with coupons.

    • Yes I have seen seconds tents come up too. Seems they go pretty quick!
