I have an Affinity (employee purchase) account, unfortunately it's showing on there at the $2699 RRP - not even the discounted $2,294.15 on their public store!

If you have access to an education email address you could register for their education site, might be cheaper there.
If anyone does this, please can you let us know what discount(s) might be gotten via a .school.nz address (rather than a .ac.nz address) if any?
We have a teacher in the house, but not sure if it for tertiary education only?
I checked the edu store, no cheaper there.

It was an ac.nz address. Just try registering with the .school.nz account and see if it works :)
