    Death by beans

I'm sure the stock is still fine but you would think they would point out that it is already past the best before date of 20-2-22?

    • Says in the description?

      • I was meaning that to say they are past best before.
It says the date but does anyone actually pay attention to that?

They will probably be good for years - just an observation.

        • Yeah if you consume within the next 6 months you're probably fine.

If people don't read the description that's their problem 🤷‍♂️
Can't be spoon feeding everything lol

An average bath tub full to the brim would be 180L but we only tend to fill it just above half, which would be roughly 100L.
To convert a kilogram measurement to a liter measurement, divide the weight by the density of the ingredient or material.
You can use this simple formula to convert: liters = kilograms ÷ ingredient density.
Lets assume the ingredient density of baked beans is similar to kidney beans which is 0.75 g/mL.
From this we can calculate the approx. volume of a 3kg tin of beans with 3kg = (3/0.75) = 4L
      100L / 4L = 25 so we would need 25 x 3kg tins of baked beans

But don't take my word for it as i m a high school drop out

      • so my 10 lots guesstimation was close lol

Once you open a 3kg canned beans you either can cook them with mince meat or store the rest in ziplock bag or non metallic container for 3-4 days in refrigerator and may be weeks in freezer. Can be good meal for a family. If one can experiment with the meals.

Or cook it up with these beans (or make your own version of it using individual ingredients), add a bit of capsicum, onion, and bit of chili and add whatever else you want to

Portion it out and freeze, Now you can have nachos whenever you want.

(I do 2 cans of Salsa beans to 1 can of 420g Baked Beans for even bean spread/taste)

  • This deal is vomit inducing!
I was once force fed baked beans when I was a kid by a family member. Haven't eaten them since and never will.

Still an up-vote for a good deal though.

If you don't have access to the free shipping through The Market then The Warehouse has the 3kg baked beans for $6 each so if you buy 3 of them from The Warehouse it works out just $1 more than getting them through this deal with shipping.

  • At least they got rid of the middleman (aka reduced to clear) and brought these deals direct to consumers…haha

    • Isn't The Market/1-Day also a middleman? Tin cans this large must be unsold stock for food services.

  • I know Watties do Lite baked bean with 30% less sugar and salt, but I didnt know they did 50% less sugar??? can someone report what they taste like?

    • tastes fine for me but i dont eat it alone, the normal can i squeeze or siv the sauce out and over 1/3 of it is sauce.

  • So this works out as similar quantity to 21 normal 420g tins, so less than 50 cents per normal sized tin. So 420 g tins in super markets look to be about $2.5 each, which is more than 5 times this price. Someone is making a lot of money in the chain even if these are being sold at cost price. I remember stores used to do 99cent deals on watties 420g tins of beans not that long ago. Personally I just used them for adding to meals.

    • Does banded bake beans taste better? I usually buy the Value brand ones from PnS for 75c each, I'm not sure whether I can taste the difference, and I suspect they are produced in the same factory, just different labels…haha

      • Other beans I have tried , the sauces taste horrible or metallic. But maybe I am more used to watties.

  • Peaches available too 3x 2.95KG (~9KG Total)
