30-Day Free Trial of Disney Plus @ Xbox (Game Pass Ultimate Required on New Account)

110

This deal will get you 30 Days of Disney + completely free, but there are a few requirements to check first.
You do not need to have an Xbox - you will need to sign up for an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate though.

Credit to @Pricebeat at Ozbargain and @Nel for the ideas on this post.

A Credit card is required to signup for both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Disney + (You will get charged $1 but this can be refunded).
I used a Wise Virtual Card for this process to ensure it was a card number that had not been used before.
You will need a new email account for the Xbox GamePass Ultimate signup, although Disney + can be an existing account that has lapsed.
Disney Plus must be claimed by 31/1/22 from the Xbox Ultimate Game Pass Perk section and redeemed by 28/2/22.
Make sure you are signed out of your Disney + account first if using an existing account.

I completed this on a PC running Windows 10 on Chrome.

  • Click through the Link to take you to the Xbox Ultimate signup page.
  • Click 'Join Ultimate'
  • At the Sign Up screen click 'No Account - Create One'
  • You should then see a screen for 'Ultimate 1 month NZ $1.00' - Click Join making sure this says $1 only
  • Click 'Next
  • Pick a Payment: Credit Card, Debit Card or PayPal
  • Enter your card details & click 'Save'
  • Click 'Subscribe' - make sure this is only for NZ $1.00
  • Click 'Download the Xbox App'

  • In the App you should see 'PERKS'

  • Scroll through the list until you find Disney Plus - it is the last one on the list.
  • Click on it and then click 'Get Link'
  • You will be taken to the Disney + signup page. Here you can use an old Disney Plus account if you wish but it must be lapsed and must be logged out.
  • Enter the email, password and credit card details you wish to use. The Credit Card can also be existing here.
  • Click 'Agree & Subscribe'
  • Click 'Start Streaming Disney'
  • Click on your account (under your Avatar) and select Account. This needs to be verified with your email.
  • When this is done I would also suggest under your Account to go to Subscription and Cancel straight away to ensure you don't get charged in full next month.
You will still get the 30 day trial but will ensure you are not charged full price next month.

Then go back to your Microsoft Account you created for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

  • Click 'Services and Subscriptions'
  • You will see your subscription to Game Pass Ultimate.
  • Click 'Cancel' and you will be presented with two options.
  • 1.Cancel at the end of your 1 month subscription - this will ensure you only pay $1 for the month.
  • 2.Cancel straight away. This option will immediately cancel your XBox GamePass Ultimate Subscription and give you a pro rata refund.

Choosing option 2 on the same day you signed up will ensure your $1 is refunded making your Disney + 30 day trial completely free!

I have tested the above and it works for me - hope my instructions are clear enough!
Please leave any comments if this works on other platforms as I can only test this on PC.

Thanks for this. When I click "Join for $1", I get an Xbox loading screen overlay for a few seconds, then that disappears leaving me on the same page. Any way to move past this point?

Any ad-blockers running? A new tab opens for me when I click 'Join for $1'.
In saying that, I have both uBlock Origin & AdGuard running (Chrome).

      See if this link works:

      • I've tried turning off my ad blocker and temporarily disabling my antivirus, but am mostly getting the same result. Sometimes it does open a new tab which 404s on me with the following error.

We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found.
The URL may be misspelled or the page you're looking for is no longer available.

Edit: The link you've posted above also gets me the same error.

Try with an incognito tab just in case there is something in your cache blocking it.
Could also be ad blocker as mentioned by @Wakrak, although I still had UBlock origin running in the background and it was ok.

      • Hey, this isn't working for me either unfortunately. See my reply to Wakrak above!

Do you have another browser you can try?
          Firefox or Edge possibly?

I’ve done it a couple of times now using both Chrome & Firefox so not really sure other than suggesting another device.

          • @bigcheese: Seems like Microsoft is having problems with its store and subscriptions at the moment. Will try again later. Thanks for your help!

              @toast: That will explain it.
The deal is still on for a while so you have time - unless you’re desperate to occupy the family now over the holiday period!

Different browser maybe? Or try on your phone.

The other link I posted above works for me. I click join and then it takes me to a Microsoft acc login screen.

iPhone XR with Blokada Cloud running in the background.

@toast Did you manage to get this to work for you?

          • @bigcheese: I did, yes. Thanks for following up!

              @toast: Good stuff.
Always worry when you do a post that the instructions are clear to me but maybe not to someone else.
Obviously it was issues with Microsoft at the time.

  • Thanks, worked using mac and android phone

  • You can use the Android Xbox Game Pass app to redeem the Disney offer. Also subscribe to Crunchyroll's free 75 day trial if you like anime, or something to watch for the kids.

  • Thanks worked for me

  • They seem to have changed this process. I'm in the Gamepass app looking at the perk, and it says "Claim this perk on your Xbox or PC." Not sure how to get the link now without kicking the kids off the Xbox!
