definitely avoid tiles. bought a few and they are useless.
I agree they don't have that much use, not only that but you have to replace the battery in them every 5 months or 1 year if you take samsung's word for it. Having one or two might be fine but it's not the panacea to losing things
CR2032 batteries are dirt cheap if you go to the $2 stores or AliExpress. With these trackers you're really buying the app, and crowdsourced tracking.
If you have a UWB-compatible iPhone then AirTags are by far the best, simply because there are so many iPhone users out there. If you're on Android then Tile has the better app and more crowdsourced tracking than Samsung. Tile also has the slim wallet tracker, if you don't like bulging pockets.
Is that a Tile tracker in your pants; or are you just happy to see me?
I dunno about that I went away and none of our devices were around and I was still getting pings every few hours
Airtags are very quiet compared to tiles. If you put one in your wallet you can barely hear it. Tiles are ok if you lose something around your house. But they lost me when they sealed the battery into it and turned it into a service, meaning that you end up throwing away plastic after a year.. They have now changed this policy, but things have moved on.

Looking at getting some apple tags for the kids expensive school Uniform parts - which have a habit of ‘going missing’ at schools. Girls uniform kilts are like $280 or something new and can’t be washed.
Probably the next best thing to an Airtag for Android users, just because there are more Samsungs around than anything else. Tiles and Trackrs require other users to have the Tile or Trackr app installed which makes it unlikely that you will find your lost keys if they're out of Bluetooth range.
The one time I lost my wallet it had a Trackr in it but the battery had gone flat three days earlier! Thankfully some honest person still handed it in.
These are very good, I got one a few months ago for my dog. It lives on its collar and has been through a lot, very robust and waterproof.
Tracking seems to work well, a few times I checked when the dog was out with iPhone users it's located the tag. Seems to be plenty of Samsung users around.
Works a bit better than AirTag, AirTag has some limitations when using it on pets. Apple didn't recommend it for that purpose when I checked, there is some tracking alarm which you get or something? Where as with the Samsung there is a pet option when you set it up.
