Help with Cashback on VPN Deals Using Shopback AU

Hi All,

I am looking to buy a VPN from Shopback AU who is currently running promos with 95 % casbback on NordVPN and 90% on SurfShark. Cheapies posts are helpful but doesn't tell you what their experience was with cashback. My experience with cashback with other companies hasn't been too good with long wait times and getting incorrect amount.

Some questions

  • How good is Surfshark VPN especially for streaming on Indian servers? (NordVPN has better reviews as per internet but is expensive. Surfshark is cheaper and give 3 months extra )

  • Has anyone used Shopback for cashback? if so How long does cashback take on Shopback ?

  • Will I be notified immediately about cashback after the purchase on Shopback ?

    Hi,

    I can't help specifically with ShopBack, but I would say that, for me personally, I have decided to regard any cashback amounts I received purely as a bonus.

    In other words, I don't purchase something purely because the cashback is good.

    Maybe harsh, but its such a roulette wheel even if you are really careful about how you do it (pre-stage the purchase, close out, open cashback, click through, complete the order without doing anything else, etc etc.)

    I have surfshark vpn. Haven't really used it for streaming. I use it for torrent downloads mostly. It is good for what I am using. speeds are good. very less disconnects. Can't comment on Nord.

    Regarding cashback, I have mostly used kiwiwallet & cashrewards. Experience is mostly positive. Might have lost 2 or 3 transactions on aliexpress, which doesn't amount for much so as Alan mentioned above it's a bonus.

    About shopback they might be less reliable compared to other cashback sites as per comments I have read here & on oz bargain. But on positive side, I think both surfshark & nordvpn have 30 days money back so if your transaction doesn't get tracked in 2-3 days, you can always cancel and either try again or cancel it.

    Most important thing:

    Disable antivirus / addblockers / avertising-firewalls etc before clicking through. They will sometimes block the tracking of the click through.

    Read the threads on ozbargain regarding the deals.

    Disclaimer: I use PIA for VPN. I use cash rewards.com.au. I also consider cashback a bonus as it's not reliable. I've had two purchases not go through that were larger (2 x ~$10 cashback). But the majority of the rest go through. Probably got around $80AUD in total back
