If anyone actually wants one and doesn't mind waiting a week or so, just walk into any of the major retailers (Jb, Noel's, Harvey's) and ask to be placed on their waiting list. Let's face it, with the limited amount of stock we seem to be getting out of Microsoft, you're going to be waiting that amount of time anyway.
I did this JB Hifi on Victoria street (Wellington) and was told they didn't have anyone on their list so I'd get the first one they could source. It turned up a week or so later and was a thoroughly nice experience instead of getting half way through checkout to find a bot had taken my stock unit.
Talking with the JB guys there, this isn't the case for PS5 - there's apparently a significant list at most stores but this might warrent phoning around and being friendly to see how long each store's list is. It appears each store maintains its own list opposed to a national one and with each store receiving their own allocation of stock, there are some ways to jump the queue.
There's so much PS5 stock I'm surprised there's still a list…
Whoa that was fast was like 99+ consoles on there when i checked (assuming its actual stock)
