  • Looks like a real deal here, any review?

  • This is a fairly comprehensive review: https://youtu.be/LRGA2xSIaJg

    • Seems either go Index or Oculus

Except not Oculus as you can't use it (properly) without a Facebook account.

It's not a big deal, I don't use Facebook and just have a dummy unused account that I have associated my Oculus with.

The whole situation is way overblown. I don't notice any inconvenience from having my Oculus associated with my unused FB account.

For a real minor inconvenience I get a very good VR headset at a very good price.

People who think they are "selling their privacy" must not use any search engine, have a free email account, use any free phone apps, etc etc. Life in our modern technologically-enhanced lives involves selling your privacy, you are the product, and that's life. You can't exist in the modern world without selling your privacy.

          • @SrsSarcasM: I think the big issue is Facebook's real name policy. You can't have a true 'dummy' account. I mean sure you can generally great a fake account and get away with it. But there's always the possibility Facebook will lock your account and demand you prove your identity. There's nothing you can do about it since it's their policy. Facebook also only allows one account, again maybe you can get away with it but they could just lock all your accounts. Google, Steam etc don't have such a requirements. Of course they can also decide to lock all your accounts for various and you often have little recourse since once such decisions are made it's often difficult to get it reversed unless you're famous (and most services tend to have some generic T&C which allows them to do so), but at least it's not something where you're running big risk by violating a major tenet of their policy.

Personally I have a Facebook account so I don't care but I can understand why some people dislike the requirement.

    • Cosmos works fine thats quite an old review it is definitely better after a few updates

  • Good price, I wonder how they compare to the HP Reverb

  • I think this is a fairer price for it -the original RRP was a joke given the other headsets you could buy for that money.

Horrific headset, quest 2, reverb, and index are the only decent options, in that order of value, if you don't mind making a FB account
