[PS5, PS4, PC, XB1, XB] Battlefield 2042 Preorder A$72.50 - $78.50 Delivered @ Mighty Ape AU

160

~$74/$80 NZD if you want to avoid the New Zealander tax on this preorder. PS5 RRP at NZ retailers is $119, with the cheapest I could find at $98 (including Mighty Ape’s own NZ website).

Even though it is from mightyape.com.au, I suspect they still deliver it from their NZ warehouse. Delivery said the standard 1-3 days to Auckland at checkout and was only $4.50 (was $5.90 shipping to AU, which would make no sense if this was actually shipped from AU in both cases).

Amazon AU is the same price, but delivery time will be slower to NZ.

Also, with Amazon AU and Mighty Ape AU deals becoming more accessible for us, I’d suggest getting a TransferWise card for the long run if your bank has high fx fees (make sure to use a referral!)

  • Good find. The release date is 22/10 but if you preorder you get to play a week early. So will this be sent out in time for that 1 week early play or is that only for digital releases?

    • Says it will be dispatched the day before 22/10. I'm not sure about playing the week early, but I do know preorders get access to the beta which should just be a code sent via email when thats ready

Hey team, here's a trick for the young players out there.

Whenever I buy physical games and sometimes hardware I shop on the mighty ape Australia store. Games tend to be roughly $30nzd cheaper if you pay in aussie dollars, shipping costs are the same and it normally gets sent from NZ mighty ape anyway so no extended waiting times.
I just pre-ordered dying light 2 for 69aud / 71nzd from mighty ape Australia and mighty ape NZ currently has it on special for 95 down from 110.

Anyone else have any work arounds for discounted games?

Amazon AU also has great deals on PS5 titles compared to NZ retail

Um, PC version is also a good deal at $75 compared to $93.50 on the NZ Mightyape, but then again golden rule is not to preorder especially from EA :P

Yeah I'm waiting for 2 weeks in, once all the reviews are out and people have been playing it

Ain't gonna spend $70+ for fails the likes of cyberpunk/anthem etc

Mightyape don't charge CC until the day before they ship so you could preorder, play the early access then cancel it if you don't like it.

  • I think it’s worth noting that you should check the cost of the battle pass. My understanding is that you need that to have access to all future content.

In the past when EA have done this it’s been around the $60 mark. Worth checking the price of the Gold edition on the PS Store which is supposed to include all that. I think the cost is about $149?

“All the gameplay mechanics will be in the free tier while the premium tier gets you cosmetics for your soldier, vehicles and weapons.

DICE will announce more information on the live service as we get closer to launch. It did, however, assure that all post-launch maps, weapons and vehicles added to Battlefield 2042 will be free to all players”

  • Any chance Warehouse will do a pricematch with this? Anyone try through chat I might give it a go if noone else has.

    • Doubt it since it’s not a .co.nz site and it’s in AUD, but let us know!

  • OP or mods could change deal link to
    https://www.mightyape.com.au/search?q=battlefield%202042&pag…

    and title to reflect that it's cheap($68-74AUD+ $4.50 shipping) across PC/PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X

      • nice job :)

  • FYI

Just a quick email to let you know our suppliers have advised us today that the release date for Battlefield 2042 ~ PS5 has changed from 22 October 2021 to 19 November 2021.

Our suppliers have indicated that this new date is looking solid at this stage.

    • yeah, EA have delayed the release of the game, will be the same case for all preorders world wide

      • Yeap, just got a Beta code for people who have done pre-orders.

  • EB Games mistakenly had the '2042 Exclusion Xbox controller camo skin' on sale for $0.01 yesterday. Bought it with a $0.70 item. Be crackup if they actually give it to me in November.
