Have anyone had any experience buying secondhand phones from eBay? Saw quite a lot of secondhand phones (even from Australia) at very good price compared to secondhand market in New Zealand (which is still very high price).
A lot of the phones there are also unlocked, but just want to see if people have any experience (good or bad) with buying phones from eBay. Thanks!
Generally they are OK to send now. Two ways to do it. Legally, so the phone is wrapped specifically and a label attached to say it contains a li-ion battery. Or under the radar, so the seller doesn't declare anything and hopes for the best. Either way the risk is on the seller. You are covered if you don't get your item. But yes can be difficult to actually find sellers willing to ship them overseas. Have you checked that the phones you saw have shipping to NZ? Wouldn't be many casual sellers on eBay doing it I don't think. Another pitfall is (or was) making sure the phones are compatible with out networks. I think that is less of a problem these days though.
I use to buy locked phones from aussie years ago,unlock them and then sell them here.
I had family that sent them over and then Aussie Post refused to send the phones with the batteries, so stopped doing it.
Last time I looked, DHL was the only way to get them to NZ (with battery) …. things may have changed by now.
