To celebrate the opening of the trans-Tasman bubble, we’re welcoming Frequent Flyers back on board with more rewards on eligible Qantas flights between Australia and New Zealand. Simply make a new booking on any eligible flight and you'll be rewarded with 5,000 bonus Qantas Points when you book and double Status Credits when you fly*.
How to earn 5,000 bonus Qantas Points and double Status Credits

Register by 11.59pm (AEST) 15 May 2021.
Make a new booking between 10 and 15 May 2021, for travel between 17 May 2021 and 28 February 2022 on any Qantas operated flights with a QF flight number between Australia and New Zealand*.
Ensure your Qantas Frequent Flyer number is included in your booking. 

Bonus Qantas Points will be credited to your account up to six weeks after booking and Bonus Status Credits will be credited to your account up to six weeks after travel. Make sure you check the latest government travel requirements before you book.

    not sure if I would risk my life to fly at this timing when global virus still spreading…

    • Agree, although as of today, Australia has 263 active cases - most of which are isolated. The odds of coming into contact with one, let alone getting infected is probably less than you having a car crash this year.

  • Looking at their rewards store, I think 5,000 points is worth about $20.

    • yeah, don't use them on the rewards store. Eg I used 54,000 points for a 1st class flight on Emirates (plus $136). And it's only 8,000 points for a flight between Sydney and Melbourne.
