I don't get why this is a thing. Shipping makes it $7.01, or I could just go to the supermarket and get it for $4. Am I missing something?
Don't think you're missing anything - I'd say you are exactly right, and if you are going to the supermarket anyway (!) then its entirely 'free' to collect.

I’m no marketing expert but this would probably be to encourage purchasing more than just the $0.01 product. With 50% off on other products, you could stock up nicely on sauces such as the Texas Rib Sauce (which btw is great!), as well as their cooking sauces. Two of the rib sauce bottles alone plus the $0.01 sauce would be better bought from their site than from the supermarket in your case.
