Genuine Dyson V6 Battery Replacement

Our Dyson v6 battery is no good anymore. The vacuum is about 3 years old (over the 2 year NZ guarantee). It now only works for about 60 seconds.

Has anyone successfully got Dyson to replace the battery outside of their 2 year warranty?

Does anyone know if you can get Dyson v6 battery replacement from Noel leeming etc using their cost price discounts eg. N3 Discount / cost price discount etc…

Genuine replacement from Dyson is $99 (incl shipping).

  • Aliexpress batteries? not sure how long they will last thou

  • The aftermarket batteries have really mixed reviews and a lot of them are shitty, so I think I want genuine, unless someone does refurbished batteries using the original board with replacement good quality 18650s.

  • +1

Just call Dyson and explain the battery situation to them, and just say it was "about 2 years ago" when you bought it.

I did that (innocently, I underestimated how long we'd had it) and they never asked for proof, just sent out a new battery.

I've since had to replace it again at my cost but even that's a seamless process and well worth the money

  • I just went with a new Dyson one, direct from Dyson. Yes, I looked at the aftermarket ones, but went with peace of mind to give me another 3 years life from my vacuum. I have used aftermarket batteries before for other items and always end up disappointed they don't last. Only worth considering if you intend to only use you vacuum for a further 6 months or a year before upgrading or something. Unlikely you will get a replacement outside the 2 years. Very few (no?) manufacturers give long warranties for batteries. They are deemed normal maintenance, wear and tear replacements. Depending on your morals, you can of course do the old "I dunno how old it is, don't have a receipt, it was a gift"

  • Ordered one directly from Dyson as well last year. Process and replacement is straight forward. With regards to batteries like these that are left at home charging, probably also best to get genuine ones to avoid any electrical issues or fire.
