AWANA.co.nz is a Scam Site ?

Hiya,

Just found this site, and the LEGO prices are too good to be true.

https://www.awana.co.nz/

So I thought it best to test a small purchase, pay via STRIPE site.

Got a confirmation email, and later on a Shipping email in USPS, which promptly went to being delivered in Portland, US.

Contact Us, is bogus too.

So, just wondering if anyone else has tried this site and if it is scam site, what next ?

Cheers

They might provide Microsoft tech support too

  • There is no personalization on the website, no actual store name, etc. T&Cs are generic with the domain name listed as the name and the address used appears to be a random residential address. The nameservers used align up with regularly used scam ones including one a month or so ago that was asked on these forums with a similar type of store.

Registered name doesn't appear to give any results within NZ and the domain itself was only registered earlier this year (previously owned by someone else). Because no business name is used I cannot look up that business within the company registrar but the fact no name is used even in the Privacy Policy is some major red flags.

    I would estimate about 95% chance it's a scam.

  • 100% a scam. the prices should be warning enough

  • 100% scam. Just do a Google search with their email address.

  • Thanks team !! how do we request/perform a takedown of the site, so no NZ’lers get scamed ? hmm…

  • Is there a Process we can follow ?

  • I was recently looking for a Lego set which is sold out countrywide and this site miraculously had stock. Thinking it was too good to be true I called the phone number provided and the person on the other end turned out to be someone who had recently placed an order on the site and had been scammed - I was one of many calls they had received that day. So they basically using scammed customers' details to look local - I wouldn't be surprised if the address on the site is also from scammed customers. Super dodgy and 100% scam. I actually found a few sites all with the same products, menus etc but slightly different branding.

Reported guys, this is fake site and because its a .co.nz domain being used by the russians. Been reported they are taking it down in a few days.

  • One of the lego items for $89 with free shipping is normally $299.

So yeah, given if you get 20% of lego you are having a good day - looks like a total scam.
