These FSL LED bulbs are the best for the price, very bright with 12W producing ~1100 Lumens. Use them throughout the house.
On Monday next week they'll probably be less than $4 each.

I think for these bulbs it's better to stick to good brands rather than cheapies. More reliable reporting of the lumen output and true to the colour shade etc. I like philips. They have come up sometimes in the cheap as chips mitre 10 saturday morning deals (And bunnings response of course) Sometime pak n save is a good as anywhere if they are on special.
