      Im a pak n save shopper, $20 sounds a bit more than what you save on one visit to pak n save. Pak n Save savings are smaller but consistant throughout the year, but sometimes you can find, for example, Rexona deodorants ($6), cheaper at New World ($5).

        Item for item the prices aren't hugely different, but paknsave also has proper budget-tier items which countdown lacks. For example there's no budget shampoo or conditioner from countdown, have to pay like 4x the price. There's a few things like that where the same brand isn't cheaper but actually having a budget brand as an option at pak n save is nice

          I never buy the budget stuff and still find it to be quite a bit cheaper. 50c-$1 off of damn near every item I buy adds up in a hurry

      For a regular shop, yeah. Countdown has week of 1/2 price deals atm though which have some decent discounts. If you can find $100 of stuff in the deals (took me about 20min last night) it's a good deal. Stock up on frozens and non-perishables like toilet paper etc

            @The Hound: I've done that with beer before. For a few months went just a few large single bottles on weekend. Then brought a 12 pack of large ones as cheaper..
            Glass recycling filled up quick… Damn self control!
