AliExpress Delivery Delays - Anyone Else?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else had recently experienced over 3 months AliExpress delivery delays? Anyone tried claiming for the AliExpress refund guarantee (initially extended to 60 days, then 90 days)?

I have had deliveries from May not show up & been successfully refunded. Whereas things i have purchased in June showed up earlier this month. I have recently purchased more things within the passed week - will be curious to see how long they take to arrive

    • I wonder if it has to do with the Shipping 'carrier'. The AliExpress shipping arrived no issues. But the 2 orders that hasn't arrived are via 4PX Singapore Post.

Likewise, curious how much longer will the delayed orders take (if at all).

It's true. Currently I have 4 items which are showing "Accepted by last mile courier" since end of July. My 5th item which was ordered last, arrived within 8 days.

  • Yeap got heaps on the way. Have had 3 things since March that havnt turned up. All were refunded at 90 days. Keep in mind I think your level on Aliexpress may impact your refund results.

    • I always was surprised hearing people didn't get refunded, or were banned for disputing then I checked my account and found I was diamond level, which probably explains my experience haha

      • I just logged in to my account via the website (as opposed to the mobile app) to look at my account, and it's been "deactivated due to abusing the buyer protection programs". That's for raising disputes for my 2 orders undelivered in May. On the mobile app, my account level is Gold, about 1250 points away from the 1500 needed for Diamond. A bit frustrating but I supposed no more AliExpress orders for me now.

        • Only 2 disputes? Damn they must like me, I've probably had 15-20 (couldn't find anyway to check) with I think 3 simultaneously.

  • Level? Where do we see this?

Had 3 orders in May. 1 arrived in 3 weeks. 2 orders now already over 90 days but dispute essentially said claim was invalid, purchases were not refunded, and orders were closed.

    • Can check "members center" can be silver, gold, platinum and diamond.

      • Thanks!

  • Had 1 order shipped 29th June, arrived 21st Aug.

  • Is it better to wait for the buyer protection to finish? Before opening a dispute for a refund?

    • Yes. Didn't even realise you could open a dispute if buyer protection is still in place?

      • yes you can, but it took forever to get my refund.

Thats why i'm thinking its better to wait for buyer protection to finish before a dispute

  • I feel for the sellers. I must have had 10 or so refunds then the items arrived much later. Tricky to actually pay the sellers after that. Did some by paypal, some set up special products for me, some were even booted off ali, so can't sort those ones out.

    • Yes that has happened to me once before. Got refund and product turned up much later. There is no easy way to pay sellers. It is something that Aliexpress should fix as I want to pay the seller.
I am these days messaging sellers to extend buyer protection which some do and some do not.
Yes some products are taking over 4 months these days, but then again I do get some in 30 days using the free shipping option.

Anyone notice the tracking doesn't work most of the time? I had an item that spent two months with the airline in the air before it landed in Auckland. Man .. that aircraft had some endurance. ;-o

    • +1

Yeap. I think it can get scanned into an airline bag / crate for shipment. But that then can get pushed off the plane over and over again for higher priority items,
Do you use 17 track? Iv notice sometime UBI and 4px seems to give better tracking info than china post.

It's unfortunately all too common for sellers on AliExpress to use false tracking numbers to meet their seller obligations i.e. the number doesn't exist at all or it relates to an entirely different package. What I've had happen to me quite often in the past is the seller provides a tracking number for a random parcel still heading to the same destination as me, so that it appears to me that the parcel is well on its way. In actual fact the seller is likely waiting for the product(s) to be manufactured or they just haven't gotten around to shipping my parcel yet.

Or it is just in a shipping container in port and still has not been shipped yet due to the backlog in shipping since there are no flights and most things have to go via shipping. Then at the other end it takes weeks to clear customs at the destination port.

        • I think this is what happens with UBI shipments. Load up heaps of items on a container, then split them locally.

  • I've made an order last week and didn't log in to my account again until yesterday. I noticed the seller had sent me a message on the day I made the purchase asking for extra payment as NZ was too far and it costs them more.
The message was either pay extra or cancel the order and the seller will hold the item and wait for my response.
However the tracking page is already showing as in transit so I am thinking it is a fake tracking number.

    • I've had that twice, I just told them to cancel it and called their bluff
      They always send it
Sellers that do that I recommend to dispute the sale at the slightest issue with shipping or such

      • The seller had originally said it's because they use "good shipping" (aliexpress standard shipping) which should only take 13~20 days to arrive.
I replied to the sellers message by asking them what I should do and the only reply I received was "Ignore him, Ignore him"
Don't know what it supposed to mean.

        • Thanks for the heads up. Haven't come across sellers like these but good to take note.

  • Ordered a Redmi phone 45 days ago from the official store, had recently received a few orders so I was hoping the delivery times had been fixed but no sign of it.

Some of my orders from March 2020 have just started arriving, so I assume they have a huge warehouse of backlog packages somewhere that they are working though with the older orders sitting at the bottom of the pile.

  • Has anyone used "Special Line-YW"? How does this compared to "Aliexpress Standard Shipping"?

I noticed that some people in reddit said Special Line-YW is faster, but am not sure whether it is only applied to certain countries (UK & Europe).

  • I got a dashcam ordered on 19th of June, apparently arrived in Auckland on the 5th of August and then no further movement. Called NZ Post and they said they havent received the parcel as of yet. Will be filing a dispute soon. Shipping via Aliexpress Standard Shipping

    • I got a bunch stuck in "delivered to last mile courier" or something like that. been sitting in that state since mid july.

    • Keep in mind that Ali express uses internal tracking which is more of a guesstimate on when it should arrive in destination country.
Ringing NZPOST will waste your time and theirs.

I've had parcels that were cancelled at origin and Ali express still tracked it to new Zealand. Got a refund within 30 mins.

      • Finally delivered on the 30th

        • good to hear that.

  • Two of my orders from mid May hasn't arrived and I had raised a dispute with AliExpress for refund. I've stated that it's been over 90 days since the order shipped but AliExpress judgement stated that my claim was 'invalid' and they've 'completed' my order. No refund was given.

    • Need to raise dispute before it is completed order and Aliexpress have paid the seller

      • Hi Sickman,

When is the right time to raise the dispute?

        Thanks,

        Alan.

        • When you look at each orders, it will say "you will receive the order within XX days…" If you have not received the items, raise a dispute saying item is in transit and purchase protection is running out. They will refund it without much delay.

          • @Banto: Okay - thank you.

            Alan.

          • @Banto: I agree with @Banto. I think we can't raise a dispute once the order is marked 'completed'.

  • There is a 3 or 4 items that I ordered that gone missing after reaching NZ. I got refund for all by Ali/seller.

    • Good to hear that. Can I ask what shipping method you used? Was it AliExpress shipping?

      • Just checked 3of them. They were all 3rd party ones.

        • Thanks! Hmm, maybe there's still a possibility my orders will be delivered.

    • Just had an item for early may turn up.

      • Thanks for the update!

  • Just an update. My orders from mid-May arrived late September.

Update: placed 5 orders in Early July and 3 items have received so far. One item showed up last week. Let's see when NZ post deliver rest 2 items.
