ETA Chips 5 for $5, Tegel Frzn Chicken 950g 3 for $12, Gluten/Lactose Free Vegan Trumpet 4pk $5 @ Countdown (NI Only)

90

Pretty good price on some good chips.

Dunno if vegan/lactose free trumpet any good but I wanna try it w/the discount. Cheaper per gram than the Magnums, though I doubt they taste as good.

All other normal Trumpets on sale too.

I've had both and actually prefer the trumpets. The vegan Magnums are soy based whereas the vegan trumpets are coconut milk based.

Thanks, I've always been a little apprehensive about trying boysenberry, so I'll give it a go.

    • I'm assuming because they are vegan that they also contain no meat?

      • +1

Well regular ice cream has no meat but vegans consider milk as animal products thus not allowed.

      • +4

yup. They dont have lamb and chicken like the other icecreams do.

      • People are vegan for ethical reasons. Milk and Beef industry are closely tied together. When cows don't produce any more milk, they get sent to the slaughterhouse which is why vegans avoid milk aswell.

        • +2

That's completely false. The slaughtering of unproductive cow's is not the reason why vegans avoid milk.

          • @Mykey: Would you like to propose why you think it is false or are you just going to leave it at that? The reasons I stated are definitely a contributing factor for a lot of vegans that avoid dairy products.

              • @Mykey: "animal rights and welfare, environmental reasons, and health concerns". My points fall under 'animal rights and welfare'. Stop pretending you have an argument here lmao.

                • @yeet: Look kid,
You can argue until the cow's come home, I really don't have a vested interest in what you think. Bottom line, you made an ignorant statement & you got called on it. It's up to you whether acknowledge your oversight or not.

                  • @Mykey: Your point is literally still ‘No, you are wrong’. If you don’t want to add anything of value towards the argument then don’t bother replying jfc.

                    • @yeet: Kid you are actually arguing with yourself.
If you read carefully my comment I was only actually taking issue with the second sentence to your initial comment "When cows don't produce any more milk, they get sent to the slaughterhouse which is why vegans avoid milk aswell." That was a gross simplication of the thought process involved.
The fact you that you basically backpeddled in your replying comment by stating its merely a "contributing factor" was good enough for me. I did however provided you a link as requested to help you understand the multifactorial thought process. You appeared to think it was perfectly normal to request such supporting evidence without even offering any yourself.
I for one are now unsure what your argument is. You have now argued both sides of the coin & it appears you have lost to yourself on both occasions. A very rare feat indeed.
If you do ever decide that you are once again in disagreement with me I would love to read any supporting evidence to that effect.
Failing that I will consider the matter closed.

                      • @Mykey: You're a bit thick aren't ya. I never implied that my "slaughterhouse" point was the ONLY reason people choose to go vegan. To even use that as your argument is laughable. Lmao and you talk about evidence when the only thing that you provide is a fokin google search. Here is some reading that you can do you clown https://veganrabbit.com/the-issues/torture-and-infanticide-w….

    • I’m pretty sure the Magnums are pea protein!
Neither taste particularly different to their non-vegan equivalents, but coconut milk definitely makes things fattier (and tastier)
