Could you purchase a Club Jetstar member and share it with another person (or two?)?

Pretty restrictive, I pretty sure that you have to be travelling with the other person that you book the flights with. That is how they treated me when I was a member - so if my wife needed a flight and I as a member booked her flight then any discount would not apply. I let my membership lapse as it was not great value for us.
