Don’t buy form Noel leeming yet. Another shop is going to be cheaper tomorrow but I can’t disclose which shop yet until tomorrow. Wait until tomorrow!

lol has to be pbtech as I can't think of another 'proper' NL competitor

      • Doubt its Pbtech since they already have the preview for tomorrows sale prices and the Note 9 is $899 which is more expensive than Noel Leemings.

        • Pbtech just reduced the price for it on their preview page to $849 now.

      • Harvey Norman and Smiths City

        • Hardly Normal is the new Dicks Smith with high prices for grandma and granddad type customers. And what is Smiths City? lol.

      • lol to the "mystery shop" , good call!

  • Ask price match and NL $20 off as well

    • $20 off code expired a few days ago already

  • Noel Leeming has just dropped their prices to $848. Potentially with another $10 off for new sign-ups to a MyNoelleeming account.

    • The prices just went down another $9, it's now $839! (Further $10 off with NL newsletter sign-ups voucher for first purchase with MyNoelleeming).

  • "OR $739 ON 2DEGREES $40+ CARRYOVER PLANS (INSTORE ONLY) " can you get the $40 plan and cancel immediately or is it a 24 month type deal?

    • +2

We just bought one using the 2degrees deal. The sales guy at Noel Leeming on Featherston St assured us that we could cancel and pay for only the 1st month of 2degrees. On that basis, it costs $779 total ($739 + $40 for 1 month on 2degrees) saving a further $60. You can pay a maximum of $499 upfront, with the remaining $ to be paid over 12 months (or immediately when you cancel, I guess). However, he would not accept the $10 sign-up discount with the 2degrees deal.

      • is this allowed on the store as a workaround.? plan to get this phone.

      • Did you pay for the whole phone upfront? I went for the same deal but got setup with a $29 upfront MRO(monthly repayment option?) for $100 a month and was told I can pay the lot off on the next monthly invoice

I paid the maximum $499 upfront on Saturday, leaving $240 owing for the phone, with $20 to be repaid each month for 12 months. My 2degrees invoice is due to be created on Wednesday. I just phoned 2degrees and changed from the $40 Carry-over plan to Prepay. He told me that this will trigger the invoice on Wednesday to charge the full $240 owing for the phone. It will be charged on the due date 7 days later from the credit card on my account. Hopefully that avoids the 1.75% credit card fee if I'd paid over the phone. Because I changed from the $40 plan after only 2 days, apparently I will pay only a few dollars for that plan for the 2 days (it's pro-rated). Great if true!

          • @Beckett66: Cool! Might just do the same if it’s prorated. Can u let me know the outcome?

            • @Seighart: Tldr:if you've bought this for $739 and don't want the $40 plan, cancel it asap, and you will only be charged for the time you have had it active (make sure you mention the plan has only been active for a few days or they may try to charge the full $40)

I know this deal has expired but I thought I'd just comment on what happened anyway. I went ahead and bought the phone the other day for $739 (took about half an hour because it's on finance). The sales rep I talked so said $540 was the most I can pay up front, and the $40 plan can be cancelled with no fee or anything.
Today I called 2degrees (200) and asked to leave the plan and pay for the remainder owing on the phone. I was told it would be $40 for the plan from the 10th of June to 10th of July plus $198.?? For the phone
I explained I have only had the plan/phone for 2 days, and the person said that they would change the charge from $40 to around $2.60, meaning overall the phone comes to around $740 (you have the option to switch your SIM to prepay or cancel the number)

@Seighart: I was billed yesterday for the final $240 owing on the phone + $2.58 for 2 days of the $40 plan. It will be charged to the credit card registered against my account 10 days later + the 1.75% credit card payment fee.

              • +1

@Beckett66: Ended up paying $749 (instead of $739 not sure who screwed up Noel Leeming or 2degrees) plus $2.58 plus 1.75%. Didn’t bother to chase $10 after 2degrees say to go back Noel Leeming.. still a good deal :)

  • THis is good to know. I bought the phone and only paid $29. I am just wondering if I cancel my plan, where do I pay for the rest $710? Do I pay for Noel leeming or 2 degree?

    • 2 degrees. they will bill you the remainder owing on the phone along with the bill for any plans on the 10th of the month. id suggest you just call 2degress helpline (200) and talk to someone about it

      • Hi I just rang 2 degree 0800 022 022, the sales said I still need to pay $40 for one month because I have signed up and agreed with the plan? I don't even get my phone because noel leeming has run out of stock !!

        • Interesting, did you explain that you only started the plan a few days ago? If so, I'd end the conversation and try call back later to get another rep as it should be pro rated and you should only have to pay a few dollars not the full 40. That's a shame about having to wait, but hey at least it probably meant you got a nice choice of colours
