  • I wonder where they got this idea from…

    • lol… but to be fair, the BK app came out way sooner than Maccas'

      • BK have also done something before although not a whole month. During Christmas 2016? they had a 12? days of Christmas daily deal thing.

Here is a list of what I believe the deals are as long as how confident I am:
If this comment is popular I will update it daily

    6th - 2x Bomb or 2x whopper meal (50%)
    7th - Hershey's Chocolate Pie (100%)
8th - BK chicken or variation meal (80%)
    9th - large fries (70%)
    10th - Whopper meal (90%)
    11th - Crispy Chicken Burger meal (95%)
    12th - 20 Nuggets (80%)
    13th - Creamy Mayo/Cheeseburger (95%) meal

  • Am I the only one to think something went wrong with BK's marketing over this plan?

The April 1st deal, $3 Whopper seems to be one of the headline deals. (I mean preference's aside, on a price compared to normal deals and prices, it's better than BOGO Whoppers and IMO any of the other deals so far.)

But AFAIK there was no marketing of this promo before the deals. In fact even after it started they only posted this on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BurgerKingNZ/photos/a.1015063449440… which was very late (they already missed lunch) and didn't even mention that today's deal was a $3 Whopper. And I don't think they sent out a push notification.

I would have expect them to do something like McDonald's and marketed it days before with $3 as their headline deal. Unless they did it in places I didn't see, like TV or newspaper ads. (I didn't notice any marketing in the stores on Monday, but I didn't look that hard.) Also that page starts with the 3rd so I assume it's new.

Were their plans affected by what happened in Christchurch perhaps? Or was this some kind of weird test of viral / 'word of mouth' marketing (what happens if we don't bother to market our super deals).

    • There was a TV ad for the promo on the evening of the 31st of March, but that was all I've seen or heard of it outside of Cheapies.

They're closing off the promotion with another $3 Whopper tomorrow

    • Yup have already included 'a few' whoppers for tomorrow's meal plan lol
