United and Air NZ are offering very cheap return flights to New York for $957. Cheapest ever flight to NY from NZ. Basically you fly from Wellington to Auckland on Air NZ, then off to San Francisco and over to Newark. Fares include bags, seats, and meals. Dates are March so still a bit cold in NY but it's NY so why not.
Strangely this fare doesn't apply from flights from Auckland. Almost worth Aucklanders to buy a separate flight to Wellington
