JB-HIFI have a 32GB iPhone 6 for a eye wateringly cheap $388, such a bargain for a brand new phone with at least 2 years of support from Apple still.

why would it have at least 2 years support? perfectly suitable older phone for some people, has actually been that price before though but nice alternative to paying $1399 for the cheapest new model phone.
Because Apple have just officially dropped it from the range
i dont think apple support works that way. but i guess it depends of what you mean by support. if they choose not to give that phone access to the latest ios update next year then you are unsupported if any security patches are required.

The iPhone 6 is getting a little long in the tooth now, 1GB of ram just doesn't cut it nowadays. I find mine painfully slow sometimes.
Could it be that you're battery just can't hold enough charge anymore? iOS throttles the phone's performance if it thinks that your battery can't handle peak performance anymore.
There was an outrage about this and so Apple is offering battery replacements for $49 (usually $139). Offer ends this year.

EDIT: You can turn the throttling off but your phone might shutdown when doing intensive work (e.g. playing games)
