  • Us based comapny for an overpriced pair of shoes.

No contact number and very basic website.

    Would stay away personally.

    • Thats the official Kanye West's Yeezy site so its legit. Though I do agree the shoes are overpriced and I think they look ugly. If you do plan on buying these for resale purposes, you would probably be wasting your money as these are not like the other ones where the amount were really limited.

  • I bought one yesterday (my first Yeezy), it won't have any custom and duty taxes as the amount is below 400NZD.
220USD is the original price which I think is good value.
    This website is 100% legit.

    • You most likely will have to pay import taxes if you shipped straight from YS. The threshold isn't $400 for shoes, its $240.

      • Nope, I have purchased shoes from UK that is very close to $400, and no duty and taxes.

    • Yep the duty + gst + entry fee would come out to be $143.77 NZD for this pair of shoes at $220 USD.

      • customs seems to target out shoes for duty. I have heard many females complaining about this

        • Never encountered from me, I always keep my order under $400NZD and never been ask to pay for duty and taxes. The threshold is $400NZD for any items coming to NZ.

          • @bilberry: Not so unfortunately. You've obviously been lucky so far..

I thought I could bring in up to $400 worth of goods tax-free?
There is a common misconception that items purchased from overseas websites for less than NZ$400 can come into the country (be imported) without incurring any duty, GST, or charges. This ‘rule of thumb’ does not apply to items that attract both duty and GST, such as clothing, shoes, and accessories. Customs charges may be payable when the value of these exceeds approximately NZ$225.

@bilberry: The threshold is NOT $400 for "Any items". Like the post above, there are exceptions to the $400 rule. There are people who have imported smart phones over $400 that did not have to pay any duty at customs but that doesn't mean you will always get lucky.
I've had powerbanks that came in to NZ just fine and I've also had the same powerbanks returned back to the seller both purchased in the same week. Its always a hit and miss at customs so its always better to know that theres a high risk you would end up having to pay the duty for these shoes. Obviously if you are feeling lucky then these might be a decent deal for you but if you ended up not being so lucky, at least you'd have expected the extra cost associated with the purchase.

A lot of the time people get lucky because the seller declared it as something else so it goes past customs unnoticed, but if they declare it as shoes, chances of you getting hit by duty and fees becomes pretty high.

  • Lol the Snoop Dogg effect, about Kanye started feeling the repercussions
