Vogel's celebrates 50th birthday with 1967 pricing

The company baked its first loaf in a small bakery on Farmhouse Lane in Auckland in the '60s, and sold it for just 14 pence - or 28c in today's money.

Customers have to buy one loaf at the 2017 price (RRP$4.99) to get a second loaf at the 1967 price. The deal excludes the gluten-free range.

  If you read the article it is actually only the second loaf that is discounted, also excludes Gluten Free range.

  There's a catch: Customers have to buy one loaf at the 2017 price (RRP$4.99) to get a second loaf at the 1967 price. There's also bad news for coeliacs; the deal excludes the gluten-free range.

    2 for $5.27 is still unheard of. They tend to average at $3.50 apiece on sale
