Maternity Clothes

Hi all,

Wife is pregnant and going to need some clothes as she grows. Was wondering if anyone knows somewhere that I may be able to get relatively good clothes that are easy on the wallet. We're based in Auckland.

  • Bit of a shameless plug as I'm affiliated with the website…

For occasions/events, your wife might want to consider renting clothing, especially as her change in size will only be temporary. All The Dresses NZ pulls together items from all the major online rental boutiques in NZ into one lovely website. None of them really specialise in maternity wear, but if you're just looking for beautiful clothing in larger sizes, without breaking the bank, it could be worth a look.

  • Since you're handy to New Market I'd go here. https://www.eggmaternity.com/collections/maternity

This is where I planned on going when I lived in Auckland.
They have plenty of tops that have handy little holes for breastfeeding and stretch to the current size.
    Fashionable too!

There's a sale on now, which you would want to bring the prices down to realistic.

  • Always cheap newish maternity clothes on trademe

Dress mart stores and kmart are also good. Most the jeans stores have a materntiy section too. Checkout any clearance sales that pop up at them and remember too plan ahead:). Also remeber that its only for a few months soo you probably dont need all too much.

  • Great way to save money and wardrobe space is to get nursing clothes that can double as maternity wear. Unless you're planning on having multiple kids, maternity clothes are unlikely to be re-worn in the future.

Nursing singlets are very versatile cos your wife can then wear it under any of her existing clothes. Kmart ones are very good.

Asos has a good range and their prices are reasonable. They often have good sales too so just wait for those.

    Congratulations for the baby!
