Hawaiian Airlines is offering flights to LA with a stopover in Honolulu for $990 return. Availability is from August to November.
These flights include bags, food etc. This is the best way to fly to the US. I've flown to LA many times and flying via Honolulu is by far the best way to do it especially if you can get a couple of days in between. Most importantly it's a million times better going through Honolulu immigration then LA.
Google Flights can show you where the cheap flights are. Then go to Momondo or whereever to book you flight.
If you don't want an overnight stay you can just arrive at 11:15AM, leave at 8:40PM.
