Winkl mattress - don't remove the 'washable' cover - glass fibre contamination

There are a couple of media articles about the glass fibres shedding everywhere if you remove the cover:

The newer ones may no longer use these fibres.

    😳

The newer ones allegedly no longer use these fibres.

FTFY. I don't know if you can trust what Winkl is saying at this point.

True, have updated the post. What would appear as blatant lies by the owner highlights significant issues around taking responsibility and the lack of credibility.

    wow that's pretty dodger.

i am still yet to buy my new mattress, but looking at peacelilly now as the best natural option.

    • I'd be doing your research.

They don't just add fibreglass for no reason - it's fire retardant. One of these mattresses would go up like….well a big foam mattresses. It's either this or some other sort of retardant - likely chemical.

+1 for peace lily. Great service and they can sell you a used one (returned during their trial) for 40% off. I asked for one that had been used with a mattress protector, just to be safe

      • Mad, thank you! Got one for our daughter, great bed. About to buy one for ourselves, will ask about the returned ones!

Only thing with rubber is the allergy causing protein content. Has anybody found out what levels peacelily have in their mattresses?
