  • I don't need headphones, but for $5 wth eh. Overstocked? Are we seeing shades of Dick Smith?

I go into the Smiths city in Colombo street every now and then, and just amazed at how much stock they have, and the variety from high end tv to camping gear to bikes kitchen flooring. There's hardly anyone in there and 5 staff per customer. I don't know how these guys have kept going for so long with the amount of competition in the retail sector and razor thin margins.

    • yeah i personally dont shop there much as they dont tend to have any good deals.
They possibly stay alive because of a few sales a day with high markups.
I guess avoid buying any gift vouchers just in case they do go broke!

  • +1

Good deal this Nachos going by overseas prices. Currently 15 pounds amazon uk, $21 amazon us, TM has only one pair but he's having a laugh at $49.
I ordered 3, 1 to keep and 2 to make profits to make this free & big mac meal. Plus I want to go into Smiths City to have a look see the state of the place.
    Thanks for posting.

    • Good deal!!! I Ordered 4..Got greedy and wanted to make more profit then Fatboyj! lol!

      • Capitalism at its finest. When I go pick up my order who knows how many more I get eh.

        • someone listed these on TM for 18 Bucks and claims to have 24 in stock.

          I hope its not you!!!
I guess I am stuck with my 4 headsets for which I also paid Shipping…

        • @dealsgalore:

I thought these would be a quick sale, when I collected mine from the bush Inn there was a load of stacks of then with dozens of pairs in each. The guy said they massively over ordered on them.

  • I just picked up a set and they are surprisingly ok. I'd never pay $50 bit for $5 they are good enough, very quiet plugged in to my phone but good enough through other devices. Also managed to snag the last PS3 play TV to use as a TV tuner for $5 and very tempted to pick up the clearance orcs Nespresso machine, after the cash back is factored in it's $100 with the milk frother included which seems a very good price.
